Seemed very slow to us (OK I accept that the excellent scenery wasn't supposed to be moving).
Maybe we'll have to give it another go given the OP's post - by then again, maybe not.
It was so boring
If this wins best film, I won't be watching any others on the list
Emperor's new clothes come to mind here

I still haven't watched it but I am so surprised that my 20 year old non arty, non bookish son who loves action films and video games loved this film and has recommended it to me.
I have to watch it now.

Clearly very diverse views on this thread - however stand by what I said a few months ago - strong storyline, great acting and the scenery/filming is breathtaking. Certainly not a super hero in sight - all the better for that.

I thought it was dismal. Just a load of nice scenery. It sort of vaguely hints at a few things that might have happened, and leaves you to make up your own story. Big fat raspberry from me.

Totally agreed Gryff
how on earth this is on the Oscars lists in any category is beyond me
There's better scenery in a David Attenborough documentary

For the Baftas they had the "Outstanding British Film" consolation prize for Belfast so an easy decision to make. Still possible Belfast could sneak a win at the Oscars.terminal7 wrote:Bafta awards last night - you read it here last December!
