If you're a Marilyn Monroe fan this maybe for you but be warned it is harrowing.
I watched the first 45 minutes and decided I didn't want to get any more depressed. If this was an accurate portrayal of her life then my heart goes out to that poor girl. From what I saw, it's a fine, well put together and very serious piece of work. It is educating but entertainment?
I may well go back to it when I feel sufficiently mentally robust. However these are depressing times and I find I need something a little more uplifting for my viewing pleasure.

Just read some of the reviews. It does sound like grim, exploitative stuff.

I watched the film for around an hour but felt it was grim viewing. MM had a miserable existence especially her childhood, was desperately unhappy and was exploited especially in her early life as a filmstar. On a more positive note I thought the actress playing Monroe looked remarkably like the character she was portraying but that aside I won't finish watching.
