Flu and covid booster jabs together?

My wife and I have been offered an appointment for the flu vaccine and a Covid-19 booster. We were quite happy about this until a friend expressed a strong preference (which is on offer) to have the flu jab now and wait a short while to let that take effect before having the Covid booster.

We want to get both vaccines when offered together, but would it be preferable to separate them as suggested by our friend?

I thought the same thing. If I felt sick afterwards I would not know which jab caused that.

Anyway, too late for me, I had my third Covid jab last week and put off the flu jab.

Some vaccinations require that you have had no other vaccination in the prior few weeks. Presumably that does not apply to these if they are being offered together.

Mine were about a week apart - don't know if that was deliberate or not. They said I should not have the Covid booster in the same arm as the flu jab.

My NHS worker son had both jabs together in different arms with no ill effects. I've had my flu jab already and await my appointment for the COVID booster. If offered I would have had both together with no hesitation.

85 year old mother in law had both, no issues.

Think of the logistics though. Twice as much work for the NHS staff if you have to go through the process twice when a few extra seconds getting doubled jabbed.

I have had my flu jab but wasn't offered the covid. Maybe I'm not due that one yet though.

Won't be long before we are back to the 80s military jabbing style. Lines walking through a crowd of nurses being stabbed by each one as you proceed...... Did you have that, not sure, well let me stick you again!

Newmownia? Didn't know they had a jab for that. Why doesn't it get the publicity of the flu jab?
Come to that, I didn't know it was distinct from a general cold/flu with ... um ... internal flooding.

As for travel, many years ago when I traveled in the tropics I asked the NHS advice: what jabs should I get? Answer came there none. These days I could google, but back then I had no idea where else to look for information.

My Dad's 91 (had no reaction to the first two covid jabs)
and had his flue and booster yesterdy and he's fine
Don't let that sway you, you and the Mrs do whatever each of you feels comfotable with - EVERYONE is different

I was told the same when I had mine (that some people need it every 5 years) and that I just needed it once, (I'm not over 65) so it's not a very well written article

The double jab isn't an option around here - I had my booster on Saturday at a clinic, and the flu jab is due next Sat at my doctor's surgery. But in a way, that's probably a good thing.

My booster (Pfizer) has left me with dizziness, headache, weird dreams and a slight temperature, exactly like the first jab (Oxford) back in February. Although maybe not quite so strong. In February, I was told that my reaction showed I had a vigorous immunological response, which was a good thing. So having a similar response again seems to be telling me that either my immunity has worn thin, or else that Pfizer immunity response is different from Oxford immunity response. Both, of course, are distinctly possible.

Either way, I'll need to cancel my flu jab at the weekend if I'm not feeling properly right by then. I probably will be, but the experience might seem to put a question mark over the practice of doing a covid/flu double jab in either arm on the same day. Just sayin'.

There are two sorts Pneumonia jabs. Covering different strains. I paid for one and will hopefully get the freeby when I'm 65 covering the strains not covered by the first.

Knowing me I'll get the delta variety from a mutant cat or something not covered by either. If I die maybe I can claim a refund.

I was informed when parachuting, if it failed, I could take it back for another one. Oh and to cross my legs..... As it makes it easier to unscrew you from the ground.

I love black humour but it's a true story! Fortunately it worked. My instructor also has a cast on her arm. "I didn't do this parachuting" holding her arm aloft. "I got hit by a plane!"

I think there are a lot more bigger risks out there than being jabbed at the moment.

I've never been contacted wrt this. Shingles vaccine, yes.

I've had five 'jabs' * this year with no ill effects: 2 x AstraZeneca, Shingles, Influenza, Pfizer

Unusual, they nearly always use different arms, in fact when I've had one, I'm always asked which is my dominant arm,
guess some distributors are more considerate than others
