I do like film scores, they have the drama and are often very flamboyant and grandiose.

Totally agree. A great film score or soundtrack often has as lasting affect on me as the film itself. I've gone back to some sound-tracks much more often that the films they've come from, although I do enjoy re-visiting the films as well, from time to time.

Some of my lifetime favourites -

The Fountain - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1D50goOkqI

Upstream Color - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4L9LK_OzPw

Blade Runner - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6qUTSZ5Zmk

Moon - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pqxRCUp4r0

Other notable soundtracks that I love -

Singles - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pY11Oz3mS7E

This is Spinal Tap - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZovrKlVQjNI

Reservoir Dogs - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0tkm-wc2PQ

Pulp Fiction - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4cLmXml8O0

Lonely are the Brave (1962)

Kirk Douglas considered this his favourite film. I first saw it on 27th March 1976 on TV. It's one of those feel-good leisurely ones with a sad but not depressing ending.

Filmed 25 years ago at the village of Pennan and beaches of Morar and Arisaig in Scotland.

'Going Home' was performed at the finale of Dire Straits concerts from 1983 onwards.

I remember this one, reminds me of the 70's French TV-series The Tiger Brigades (1974-1983) - these frog policemen on their bicycles.

How could I have forgotten this one, music works perfectly with the film, particularly in the final scene with Bob Hoskins in the taxi.
