Pointless

Does anyone know why they're now showing repeats of Pointless? Series 16 finished last week, they're now showing series 15 again.

I presume a new series will start at some point?

They just have contempt for the audience of Pointless, which is shown by the way that, even though all of series 16 was in the can, they would suddenly, mid week, start showing repeats from an earlier series.

Also the way they showed the 1000th episode out of order.

Also the way they are currently repeating the latest series of Pointless Celebrities.

I haven't seen Richard Osman mention recording a new series on Twitter, yet. But I may have missed it.
