Absolute gem of a film based on a book by a chef. A day in the life of a busy London restaurant filmed in one take.

Best film I've watched all year, some great performances and a relentless pace throughout.

Agree, it is great.

But still haven't got to the bottom of this:- a few months ago we noticed that it was available on Amazon Prime but even though we are Prime "members" we had to pay to watch. And then were surprised that it was mreally short (from memory, less than 30 minutes) despite this not being mentioned in the Amazon plug.

Then we saw it plugged on Netflix so we watched that a week or so ago. Steven Graham still the lead and drinking but other than that quite different. Different location, different supporting cast slightly different storyline.

Strange.

Boiling Point was originally a short film, 22 minutes long, and made in 2019 -

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Boiling-Point- ... B08CP8Y9PB

It was then re-made in 2021 as a full-blown 90 minute drama -

Hope that helps solve your mystery at least!

Cheers,

"Boiling Point is a 2021 British drama film directed by Philip Barantini and starring Stephen Graham... It is an expansion of a 2019 short film of the same name, also directed by Barantini and starring Graham."

What a great film, thx for the heads up John. What most of us don't know and don't see what really goes on in many restaurants. Remember Stephen Graham from Snatch and that goes back 20 years. Terrific performance, in fact at times all the cast were just so natural you felt you were right in the restaurant itself. One film I wont forget for a long time, got a right unexpected plate full and needed a stiff drink after that and you say it was filmed in one take. Cor blimey.
