Advertising programs during the program?

We tend to record most stuff, and sometimes catch up On Demand - all done through a SkyQ box.

What I have noticed when fast forwarding the adverts, as an increasing tendency for the channels to show promos, for the same program you are actually watching. Even on some of the downloads it does it!

Anyone know why they do this, or do they just have a fixed bunch of 'promos' that they show randomly?

I agree completely. Amazon Prime constantly shows me ads for the series I have JUST FINISHED watching on Amazon Prime. Given how smart Amazon recommendations are for purchases, surely they can fix this for program recommendations.

One that always gets me is watching F1 practice and qualifying when they have promos for the race!

I find the same, I thought it was stupid
just shows, perhaps, that technology isn't always as good as you might expect it to be.
