Preference share dividends for tax purposes

Post by carnie »

Hi all,

Apologies if this has been covered previously but could someone confirm for me that any dividends I receive outside of my isa on preference shares such as NWBD, AV.B and ELLA will be covered, up to £2k, by the tax free allowance for dividends and any in ORB bonds would fall under the £1k interest free allowance for standard rate tax payers?

I have managed to fill my ISA this year and have some extra funds so for the first time am looking to park some less growth orientated assets in a trading account.

Thanks in advance

Rich
