Clifton, Bristol

Post by didds »

Me and Mrs Didds have a few days this week based in Clifton - we have plans for the theatre at Clifton College Wednesday night, and probably a visit to the Rose o Denmark and the Bag O'Nails for a pint or three but otherwise its relaxation and strolling and nothing planned.

Your challenge - what would be the three things you would definitely do based on walking/public transport (including river bus).

Consider everything is open to interest except big store shopping and shoes etc! LOL. And no need to consider anything outside of Bristol eg Bath

ta!

you can walk down to baltic wharf / brunels ss gt britain / avon railway etc along the WEST side of the river .

go over the suspension bridge and down via leigh woods/ cycle track . ( the first bit may be by road , not far).

return via bristol cathedral is possible .

from memory the clifton primrose and rainbow cafes are good , as is the avon gorge hotel .

+1 for the SS Great Britain, don't miss the walk below the waterline.

Clifton Bridge is amazing.

The Three Tuns was always my favourite when I spent a night in Bristol, the quality of the beer is superb.

The Grain Barge is also worth a look

Enjoy
