I read Guy Thomas' "Free Capital" a few years ago. Has to be my favourite book on investing.
Quite a few of the people he profiled in that were of a mathematical bent. I suppose crunching numbers and being analytical makes the likes of us built for investing.

I'm an engineer and reasonably maths-proficient (but not a 'natural')
Not sure if I'm a good investor. The '*****' where Carillion used to be in my portfolio suggests not. Likewise Chemring and Centrica, sitting there festering.
(note to self- avoid shares beginning with 'C')
