Fidelity Discretionary Portfolio Mgmt Service

Post by darrinm »

Hi all,

Has anyone had experience of the Discretionary Portfolio Management Service offered by Fidelity?

Just wondered what they thought of it...

Regards

FWIW I would never use a discretionary portfolio management service. Why would one think that any individual manager is better than the market and then pay a large fee for it? Just buy a tracker. I remember many decades ago my sister had two portfolios managed by separate discretionary managers. In one month one manager sold a particular share from one of her portfolios whilst the other bought the same share for the other portfolio!

The other point is you have no control over them creating tax events for you, eg realising a capital gain.

Not for me!

Thanks scrumpyjack, thats the conclusion I'm coming to after seeing the recommendation.

Almost £20K in charges off the bat in a load of feeder funds with no past performance has put me off :o

With no guarantee of success over and above my existing funds I'd be better off selecting them myself.
