What do you take from hotel stays ?
Ok, a confession. When I leave hotel rooms I normally grab a handful of coffee and biscuit packs. A bit surprising though that some lowlifes actually nick the bathrobes

I like to travel frequently but unfortunately my travel budget doesn't stretch to hotels with bathrobes
As such I'm restricted to taking to my heels and fleeing with the remaining mini soaps and shampoos, which come in useful when I go to my local gym.
I once shared a Travelodge for a night with my cousin who took it to the extreme by taking the little uht cartons, sugar sachets and nutrasweet sachets on the basis that he'd paid for them

Aw, come on, give her a bit of slack. She's probably struggling to get by on her pension, the poor dear. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politic ... 34215.html . And I'm sure she's grateful for whatever modest pittance she can gain by reselling these small souvenirs on Ebay. I hope Chevening counted the shampoo sachets as well?
Aimless, brainless, and then shameless. Seems to be a recurring pattern.

That's hilarious. It must surely be from the "Letters of Henry Root" or if not borrowed from his stylekempiejon wrote:Not soap, remember this early internet funny?

Back in the late 1970s my family lived in a slightly lawless West African state. It was not unknown for guests to check out of the more upmarket hotels with TV sets concealed in their enormous suitcases.

Taking anything more than toiletries is a bit tacky.
That said I do still have a very nice shoehorn from the Swissotel in Zurich.
And the odd mini sewing kit things which can be very useful on the road.

Most hotels I've stayed at have a note saying something like " You are welcome to take the bathrobes, the price is £xx which will be charge to your credit card." Seems fair enough to me.

Never seem to want to take toiletries. Unless there's something like the remains of a mini bar of soap that'll clearly go to waste if left.Lootman wrote:Taking anything more than toiletries is a bit tacky.
But I have a few pens (OK, biros) with hotel logos on.

Toiletries and pens/paper are fair game. They probably get binned pre-next guest anyway. I've still got some nice soap from the Grand in Brighton
I did like getting a free bottle of house red for NOT putting my towels out for the wash last time I stayed in Leeds.. It made the journey back down south somewhat easier
