Predictions for next year?

Post by UncleEbenezer »

OK, to get the ball rolling, I predict it'll be 2023. But of course I could be wrong.

I predict 2023 will be unpredictable.

Predictions usually are. Especially about the future.

There will be another climate record, somewhere.

And I further predict that someone somewhere will attribute that to global warming/cooling/change rather than, say, weather.

  1. I will return to work during January after 14 months off due to health issues :)
  2. Covid 20 will close down the country in the middle of January :(
  3. In the New Year we will book to go on holiday to Tenerife in July :)
  4. Russia will declare war on Tenerife in June :(
  5. I will wash the car again on January 2nd :)
  6. The UK will have record snowfall on January 3rd :(
  7. I will hoover the entire house top to bottom this weekend :)
  8. We will have several burst pipes, brought on by record snowfall and freezing temperatures, the following week :(
  9. Rishi Sunak will call a general election in August :)
  10. Russia will annex London in September :(
  11. Father Christmas will visit our house on the 25th December :)
  12. The repairs to the leaks that were fixed in January will fail and all my presents will be ruined :(
Same poo, different year

Just read the FTSE had a much better year in 2022 than Europe & World indices, so I'll predict that in 2023 Europe and World indices will have a much better year than FTSE.
Think 2023 will also be the year when Brexit isn't reversed, but various deals are done that take us closer back to Europe, and make trade easier.

There will be another Covid wave which almost everyone will say is positively, absolutely the last ever Covid wave.

The Russia/Ukraine conflict will continue on in pretty much the same way that it's done this year, and will still be going at the end of 2023.

Elon Musk will break Twitter and someone else will arise in its place. He'll have lost £44 billion, but that won't matter to him at all, because he'll still have £100+ billion.

I see that Old Nostrdamus os being his usuall cheery self. Doom and destruction, more doom and destruction and just in case you missed it another dose of doom and destruction. Did he ever get any forecasts correct or did people just imterpret what he forecast after the events to fit the narrative?

I predict that there will be 525,600 minutes in 2023, but that still won't be enough to let me catch my train. :(

I predict that the Stock Market will either go up, fall or stay at the same level. I will charge a management fee of only 1% for such wisdom :D

And for just 0.5%, I predict it will move both up and down.
