Bassetts liquorice allsorts - even though they're no longer owned by Bassetts. I usually get gifts of the Bertie Bassett shaped tins for birthdays and Christmas. The grandchildren and now Great grandchildren love playing hunt the Bertie Bassett tin in the garden and woods when they come to stay. My eldest grandaughter who is in her thirties still insists on a Bertie hunt when she comes to visit.
I remember just after the war I was presented with a Crunchie bar, I'd not seen anything like this before and couldn't believe that I'd been given a whole bar of something to myself. I went and hid in the garden and licked all the chocolate off then nibbled the lovely cinder toffee centre. Took me over an hour to eat and I've never enjoyed a bar of chocolate so much since.
