DAK …

Post by brightncheerful »

…what happened to 1001 that cleaned a big big carpet for less than half a crown?

Yesterday I treated myself to the forthcoming last of the HM The Queen's head on a new issue commemorative postage stamp featuring the Flying Scotsman railway engine. Doing so brought back the memory of shortly before GB changed to decimal currency when I raided my post office savings account for £10 to buy twenty 10/- postage stamps. I recall my y mother asking me whether that was sensible. Sadly she didn't live long enough for me to tell her, years later, yes it was when I sold them for £10 per stamp.

...It still seems to be around. At least, on the Internet: https://1001carpetcare.co.uk/about-1001/

When I was a kid my mum used to use Vim or Ajax interchangeably. The two seemed exactly the same to me.

Horrible gritty stuff, both of them!
