New HYPTUSS versions 11.52 and b-g

Post by kiloran »

Following the changes to the DigitalLook website, Itsallaguess and I have updated the HYP Top-Up SpreadSheet. http://lemonfoolfinancialsoftware.weebl ... op-up.html

Many companies have seen a change to the URL suffix in Column A of the Digital Look Data Sheet, but things now seem to be relatively stable.

Other than the change to use the replacement DigitalLook website, there are no other changes or bug fixes.

Excel or LibreOffice, Neil?

What happens if you download the new version and just update yield for the existing BP? Does that work?
If that does work, which shares are you having problems with?

Usual - LibreOffice on a Mac. 5.3.7.2

All the shares have the problem - including the BP share from a clean download.

I've checked with curl and the download of the root URL I'd expect to be the correct one (https://uk.webfg.com/equity/BP) works fine from a terminal window.

Many thanks.

Everything working splendidly here and the spreadsheet seems to open and close (after saving) a lot quicker than the previous version.

I'm sure everyone's got this great 'HYPTUSS Portfolio Transfer' video bookmarked by now, but just in case anyone has lost their link, here's a video showing you how simple it is to migrate your portfolio from an earlier version of the tool into the latest whizz-bang release -

Cheers,

Neil, I wonder if this is the SSL problem we saw a few months ago with Yahoo on your Mac/LibreOffice.

I've sent you a PM with a link to a test file to see if that fixes the problem.

Tomorrow I think I'm going to just write a macro to do this. Could it be incorporated into the next sheet? It'll be fairly simple and obviously won't cover custom sheets that people add.

Thanks for that. I've downloaded the new version but not used it yet apart from testing the initial BP share which works fine.
Fingers crossed they don't change something else in a day or two. I think I might wait before populating the spreadsheet.... 8-)

Thanks - I'll just import the updated datasheet then (as I'm already on b-f it's quicker/easier than migrating my portfolio and customisations :))

Done: all working normally.

Downloaded the excel version and working with windows 10.
Made my conversions and customisations quite quickly and the core of the portfolio seems ok so far.
I have to say the gathering of dividend data went faster than before and I didn't notice any delays due to (site not responding) issues as was 100% certain in the past.

I noticed in my watchlist that Standard Life European Private Equity Trust (SEP), doesn't appear to be in my lookup data sheet.
SEP is listed in the previous version 11.4_beta so I copied and pasted this into new version 11.52 however the yield info returns question marks.
I was playing around adding a new IT, Aberdeen Standard European Logistics Income (ASLI) although I don't have a CSI code for that yet; therefore also returns question marks.

Overall very happy again :D

I think you will find that the ticker was changed to SLPE.

I guess that's a reasonable approach, Bree, as long as the website's current redirection from http://www.digitallook.com to uk.webfg.com continues

Yes, SEP changed to SLPE a year ago. I've added SLPE to the Digital Look Data Sheet at http://lemonfoolfinancialsoftware.weebl ... op-up.html

Thanks for the new version which works fine on Excel :D I've just noticed that IUKD has been added but when using it the yield is filled by question marks.

That's normal, DigitalLook (uk.webfg.com) doesn't provide yield data for ETFs, sadly, in which case HYPTUSS reports '????'

Downloaded HYPTUS 11.52 (Windows 10 64 bit, Excel MS Office 2010) and migrated data with no problems (actually - super easy - thank you for keeping it that way!)

Updated data and all looks good.

As discussed previously, there is a quirk for Co-op 11% pref shares (Epic=42TE), reporting the price in GBp but stating it's in GBP.

To fix this I've used a fairly blunt approach: open the VB Object in Sheet1 (High Yield Portfolio) and look for:

' Go down the portfolio and fill in price information where the tickers are matched in the dictionary
For rowsdown = 6 To lastrow
    ticker = Cells(rowsdown, 3)

     If dict.Exists(ticker) Then
        share_price = Left(dict(ticker), InStr(1, dict(ticker), "|") - 1)
        share_currency = Right(dict(ticker), Len(dict(ticker)) - InStr(1, dict(ticker), "|"))

        If share_currency = "GBP" Then
                Cells(rowsdown, 5) = share_price * 100
            Else
            Cells(rowsdown, 5) = share_price
        End If
    End If
Next rowsdown

and change to:

' Go down the portfolio and fill in price information where the tickers are matched in the dictionary
For rowsdown = 6 To lastrow
    ticker = Cells(rowsdown, 3)

    If dict.Exists(ticker) Then
        share_price = Left(dict(ticker), InStr(1, dict(ticker), "|") - 1)
        share_currency = Right(dict(ticker), Len(dict(ticker)) - InStr(1, dict(ticker), "|"))

        If share_currency = "GBP" Then
                Cells(rowsdown, 5) = share_price * 100
            Else
            Cells(rowsdown, 5) = share_price
        End If
    End If
    'Added by VRDiver to correct 42TE GBPence error in source data
    If ticker = "42TE" Then
        share_price = Left(dict(ticker), InStr(1, dict(ticker), "|") - 1)
        share_currency = Right(dict(ticker), Len(dict(ticker)) - InStr(1, dict(ticker), "|"))
        Cells(rowsdown, 5) = share_price
    End If
Next rowsdown

Crude, but it works. Just remember to keep an eye on 42TE in case it increases in value 100-fold some day :)
