LSE website down (for me) - anyone else?

Post by DiamondEcho »

The London Stock Exchange website appears to be having a problem. When I visited after the close last night @ http://www.londonstockexchange.com/home/homepage.htm the table of index close prices were all displayed as ' - '. I've never seen it like that before. Later into the evening, and again early this morning the site wouldn't load at all... blank white page. Just now it's part-loading but again showing ' - ' for last nights close prices.

That's what I see. I googled for news of reported problems they might be having but found nothing. How does the site load for others? I use their prices as my bullet-proof 'go to the source' for closing data. Thanks.

Saturday 9:30am
Indices are displayed as "-"
Risers & Fallers are displayed correctly
Searching for SSE price ...."page error"

Tested on broadband connection and separately on a 4g network.

( O/T for the HYP board but it seems there are problems).

Thanks Monabri, so that confirms it's not my ip/location. Curious that even their own website doesn't carry some kind or news alert re: this issue.

ps. I asked here as I people here use these prices daily and some might use the LSE site. If the data isn't there at source, perhaps it impacts on into other secondary sources, the HYPTUS scrape, and so on.

I just checked my ADVFN monitor and also my Bloomberg watchlist, both of which show last night's closing figures. The same applied to currencies, which I thought might be active 24/7, but it appears not.

The implication is that the secondary sources store the last values which they have been given. One assumes that the LSE is the master source, but is it?

Some way down here there's a list of sources for (some?) indices:

http://www.londonstockexchange.com/glob ... laimer.htm

Not that the UK sources seem to be mentioned.

And still '-' for me on the LSE site. Meanwhile I took closing data, and hi/lo's etc from Yahoo. Perhaps a sad day when you depend on that more than the LSE itself.

I wonder if they'll have the site updated/updating tomorrow...

For say Glaxo/GSK they indicate:
Price (GBX) 1,494.20 Var % (+/-) +0.00% ( 0.00)
High - Low -
Volume - Last close 1,494.20 on 24-May-2018

It hasn't updated since Thursdays close.

With 1/2hr to go until the open they seem to have part-fixed the pricing. 1500p is the correct close figure for Friday/25th. Curiously they still show that as the close on the 24th whereas that close was 1494.20p

'Price (GBX) 1,500.00 Var % (+/-) +0.00% ( 0.00)
High - Low -
Volume - Last close 1,500.00 on 24-May-2018
