apologies if wrong board.

my banking smartphone app was hacked i think.

i got a text message on my smartfone which said a payment had been made that day from the app, and if it was NOT me , to click on the link .

stupidly i did .

this took me to my banking app which looked completely normal .

i again stupidly logged in .

nothing happened for some minutes - at which point i smelt a rat - scammers would have my login details.

rang my bank straight away who agreed it was a scam and they blocked the account ,

fortunately nothing taken.

i have since wondered if this could be scammers hacking my fone via the covid app which needs bluetooth to be on all the time .

DAK anything about this ?

thanks

This is a known scam and nothing to do with the NHS app.

HSBC and probably others warned about this in July

July 2020: HSBC smishing scam
Bogus text messages are being sent to HSBC customers saying a new payment has been made through our mobile banking app on their phone.

Customers are then asked to validate their bank details through a website given in the text message.

Do not access the site or provide any information, please only to log on to online banking through hsbc.co.uk.

If you’ve fallen victim to this scam, contact us using the the number on the back of your card.

So neither the banking app nor the NHS app were hacked. That would be infinitesimally unlikely.
